Anhui International Convention and Exhibition Center

The site of Anhui International Convention and Exhibition Center sits at the node location along Jinzhai Road, the main artery of the old town, which extends south towards the new district, a prominent area in the planning of the whole urban structure and development zone. The buildings are parallel to the prosperous avenue, forming a clear linear composition that consists of large-scale elegant geometries that curve upward. The design strives to become unified with the surrounding environment in terms of scale and overall spatial effect, fully emphasizing its local characteristics of the land. The architecture applies three meters as the modulus to meet the requirements of international exhibition standards. The six-meter corridor and skylights created strong sense of orientation and has endowed the large-scale space with a clear identification.

The project consists of six parallel columns of vertical spaces and three horizonal functional zones (two exhibition halls and a convention center) linked with the grand steps. Each column leads to a rooftop platform overlooking the roof, the square and surrounding cityscape, forming a space sequence that is smooth and natural.
